Searches for an MCAT cancellation fee are looking for the wrong number. The AAMC does not add a fee when you cancel; it simply refunds part of what you already paid, and how much depends on your cancellation window. This page converts that into the real out-of-pocket cost in each window.

Real Cost
What cancelling actually costs in each window.
Start from the $355 standard registration fee and subtract whatever the AAMC returns.
- 60+ days out: refund $175 — your cost is the rest of the registration fee.
- 30–59 days out: refund $175 — same cost as the earliest window.
- 10–29 days out: refund $0 — your cost is the entire $355 fee.
- Inside 10 days: cancellation is unavailable, so the fee is fully spent either way.
Waiting from the 30-day window into the 10–29 day window costs you the entire refund. That deadline is the expensive one.
Cancel vs Reschedule

- Reschedule 60+ days out: $55 and you keep your registration.
- Reschedule 30–59 days out: $110.
