All date changes run through the AAMC MCAT Registration System. Never contact Pearson VUE directly for a self-initiated reschedule.
- Sign in to the MCAT Registration System in your AAMC account.
- Open your existing registration and choose the reschedule option.
- Pick the new date and test center from the live seat availability list.
- Pay the zone fee to confirm — the change is not final until payment clears.
- Save the confirmation email; it carries your new date, center, and reporting time.
Seats disappear quickly for popular dates. Have two or three acceptable alternatives picked out before you start.
Limits
How many times you can reschedule, and what stays fixed.
The AAMC does not cap the number of reschedules within a testing year, but every move is priced separately and your testing-year attempt limits still apply.
- No formal limit on reschedules — each one charges the current zone fee again.
- You can only move to dates within the same testing year for that registration.
- Attempt limits are unaffected: rescheduling is not an attempt.
- Your test center can change; seats at the original center are not held for you.
Reschedule vs Cancel
When rescheduling beats cancelling — and when it does not.
If you still intend to test this cycle, rescheduling almost always beats cancelling, because cancellation refunds only part of your fee and you would pay full price to register again.
- Still testing this cycle: reschedule — $50-$210 is cheaper than forfeiting the registration.
- Not testing this cycle at all: cancel in the Gold zone for the largest partial refund.
- Undecided and in the Gold zone: reschedule to a later date to buy decision time cheaply.
- Inside 10 days: neither is available — you test, void, or file an emergency request.
