MCAT Deadlines 2026

The last day to change anything about your MCAT is 10 days before your exam — and the last cheap day is 30 days before.

Every MCAT scheduling question comes down to three dates counted back from your exam day: the 60-day line, the 30-day line, and the 10-day cutoff. This page puts every 2026 AAMC deadline in one place — the last day to reschedule at each fee, the last day to cancel for a refund, and what happens once the final cutoff passes.

Deadline Table

Every 2026 MCAT deadline, counted back from your exam date.

The AAMC divides the calendar into three scheduling zones. Your deadline is always your exam date minus the zone length — not your registration date.

  • 60+ days before your exam: reschedule for $55, cancel for a $175 refund.
  • 30–59 days before: reschedule for $110, cancel for a $175 refund.
  • 10–29 days before: reschedule for $210, cancel for $0.
  • Inside 10 days: no changes of any kind through the standard system.

Count the days carefully: the zone is measured in full days before the exam date. When in doubt, the MCAT Registration System shows your current zone next to your scheduled exam.

Last Day To Reschedule

The last day to reschedule your MCAT is 10 days before the exam — but the cheap days end earlier.

You can move your date at any point until the 10-day cutoff, but the fee triples as you wait.

  • Move at 60+ days: $55 standard, $25 with FAP.
  • Move at 30–59 days: $110 standard, $45 with FAP.
  • Move at 10–29 days: $210 standard, $85 with FAP.
  • After the 10-day line: rescheduling is closed at any price.

Last Day To Cancel

The last day to cancel your MCAT for a refund is 30 days before the exam.

Cancellation itself stays open until 10 days out, but the refund disappears at the 30-day line.

  • Cancel at 30+ days: $175 refund to your original payment method.
  • Cancel at 10–29 days: allowed, but the refund is $0.
  • Cancel inside 10 days: not offered — the option is removed from the system.
  • A cancelled exam never counts as an attempt; a no-show does.

If you still plan to test this cycle, compare before cancelling: a 10–29 day reschedule costs $210 and keeps your seat, while cancelling in the same window returns nothing.

How To Count

How to work out your personal last day in under a minute.

Take your exam date and count backward. Then verify inside the AAMC system, because it is the authoritative source.

  • Exam on June 20? The 30-day refund deadline is May 21, and the 10-day cutoff is June 10.
  • Zones change at midnight Eastern Time — do not leave a decision to the final evening.
  • The MCAT Registration System displays the exact deadline dates attached to your registration.
  • Set two reminders: one at 35 days out, one at 12 days out, so no deadline ever surprises you.
